Saturday 23 June, 7.30pm
Bring a picnic blanket for open-air summer music at Lyveden New Bield. With an open-air concert programme of music by William Byrd and Thomas Tallis, The Pankhurst Anthem, powerful slave spirituals and Syrian folk songs, Secret Concert at Lyveden is a celebration of music as a force for change and freedom of expression.
Lyveden’s Tudor gardens are full of hidden symbols and architectural clues. They represent one person’s expression of his beliefs during a time of great instability, change and danger.
Secret Concert at Lyveden invites you to engage with themes across four hundred years that burn just as brightly today and wonder to yourself…what do I stand for in these turbulent times?
